Constructionline Now Providing Construction Product Supplier Assessments
Constructionline, the UK’s largest database of pre-qualified contractors and consultants have announced that they are now providing assessments of construction product suppliers.
Constructionline is run under license from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills by Capita.. The Constructionline database has been established for 11 years and this is the first time that Constructionline have invited material suppliers to submit their prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) data. With a 21,000 strong register of construction contractors and consultants this expansion demonstrates the huge volume of construction procurement data Constructionline have available to those in the construction industry.
The online database is used by more than 2,400 clients spread across the private and public sectors. Constructionline gives buyers of construction services access to real time PQQ information on suppliers in addition to the Constructionline Opportunities Board where tendering contracts can be posted for supplier members to view. The reason behind the expansion is due to demand from Constructionline’s clients for more access to PQQ data throughout the construction supply chain.
Philip Prince, a director from Constructionline, said: “Our clients are increasingly being expected to deliver projects with less time and money available to them.
“Completing and processing PQQs are necessary stages of the procurement process but they can quickly become burdensome if managing the data becomes difficult and time-consuming.
“By creating an integrated source that incorporates material suppliers and contractors we are allowing buyers to access PQQ information from across the supply chain in one place, reducing the amount of resources needed to successfully manage each project.”
